We recommend booking your château as early as possible, especially if your stay coincides with popular seasons like summer or holidays. For peak times with large group events, booking 12 to 18 months in advance ensures the best selection of properties.
However, if you’re planning a last-minute getaway, don’t worry—we can still help you find available options that match your needs. Early planning gives you more flexibility and ensures your dream château is secured!
Is there a Minimum or Maximum Group Size for villa rentals?
At Bespoke Châteaux Travels, we specialize in hosting groups of 20 or more people in Southern France, ensuring plenty of space and comfort for everyone. If your group is slightly smaller, that’s no problem—we can still find a property that fits your needs.
If you’re fewer than 10 people but need a lot of privacy, so 10 rooms, the math works out the same, and we can also help you.
On the larger end, the biggest château in our database accommodates up to 250 guests, and we can often arrange even more space by coordinating with neighboring accommodations. Whatever your group size, we’ll tailor the perfect solution!

How Much does it Cost to stay in a French château?
The cost of renting a French château varies widely depending on these factors;

For budget-friendly options, prices can start as low as €250 per person per week for larger groups sharing a charming château.

What is Included in the Château Rental Price?
The château rental price typically covers exclusive access to the property for the duration of your stay, including all bedrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces like gardens, pools, or terraces. Standard inclusions feature utilities (electricity, water, heating, and Wi-Fi), linens, towels, and basic cleaning before and after your stay.
However, services like housekeeping, private chefs, catering, or event arrangements are considered add-ons and can be tailored to your needs.

How much are the Down Payment and Security Deposit policy for renting a château?
When renting a château, we typically require a 40% down payment upon booking to secure your reservation. The remaining 60% is due twelve weeks before your arrival.
In addition, a security deposit may be required to cover any potential damages during your stay. This deposit is fully refundable, provided no damage occurs. Your booking agreement will outline specific details regarding the deposit amount and payment terms.

Why do I have to pay a Down Payment?
We ask for a 40% deposit to reserve your château and guarantee it's held for your preferred dates. Your card won't be charged until you receive a booking confirmation, which typically arrives within 48 hours. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable unless the property is unavailable (in which case, you’ll be fully refunded). Additionally, we include holiday insurance with every rental, providing peace of mind in case unforeseen circumstances prevent your travel.
What happens if we need to Cancel our stay?
With Bespoke Châteaux Travels, travel insurance is included with your rental, giving you peace of mind if you need to cancel; you'll get your expenses reimbursed.
Our policy is that the down payment is non-refundable; if you cancel before the final payment, you won't need to pay the remaining balance.
Please note that larger properties often have strict cancellation policies due to the advanced nature of bookings. It's always best to cancel as soon as possible to maximize any potential refund, and we'll help guide you through the process based on the specific château's rules.

Are the châteaux rentals Child-Friendly?
